What we check on every tool
- Publisher identity — is this the actual platform, a known company, or an anonymous account?
- Login method — proper sign-in (OAuth) versus pasting in a raw key versus, in the worst cases, being asked for your password directly (an automatic fail).
- Permission scope — can it only read your data, or can it also change things? Both are labeled plainly, not buried in fine print.
- Maintenance — is it still being actively updated, or abandoned?
What the score means
Each tool gets a score from 1–10. Below 6 is flagged as a risk with a specific reason given — never a vague warning. We'd rather list fewer tools than list unclear ones.
How this site makes money
Some listed tools are affiliate partners — meaning if you sign up through our link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects the score: a tool is scored the same whether or not it pays us anything, and any sponsored or featured placement is labeled clearly as such, separate from the inspection score.
